Welcome to Lions Club Gavere Rhodeland’s website.

Lions Club Gavere Rhodeland is a local service club in the region Land of Rhode, part of ‘Lions International’. This international association of Lions Clubs is the world’s largest non-governmental organization to have signed the UNO charter.

It is present in most of the countries all over the world, counting over 1.350.000 individual members, all benevolent men and women, spread over approximately 46.100 clubs.

On 17 March 2005 our club members received their badge with Lions emblem and on 5 May the club obtained it’s charter.

Bearing in mind the Lions’ motto “We Serve”, it is regarded as one of our many objectives to stimulate mutual understanding and tolerance amongst different peoples and to serve universal welfare. Lions International focuses mainly on juvenile issues, fighting blindness, supporting humanitarian projects and providing help to victims of nature’s catastrophes.

Being a member of Lions is considered an honour. Membership implies taking up one’s responsibility to help fulfil the organization’s goals. Joint devotion connects people and increases mutual involvement.
